Abi Ferrin. The inspiration for her Spring 2009 Genesis Collection came from the waterfalls and canopy of green in the rainforest of Costa Rica and her Fall 2009 Collection shown at the Funkshion Fashion Week in Miami was breathe taking.
The difference between Abi Ferrin and the standard definition of eco-fashion is where the money meets the rain forest. Working with the Freedom Project in July 2009, Abi met with women in Costa Rica to discuss training and resources required to employ their skills in manufacturing her next clothing line. In Nepal, women have been snatched from the human trafficking trade and employed to create handmade buttons for Abi’s designs.
