Tinted Moisturizers

Summertime tends to call on us to wear less makeup, but most of us wouldn't go out of the house without some sort of makeup unless our lives depended on it. I've been asked a dozen times - what is my alternative to wearing foundation? Well tinted moisturizers are a perfect answer. When summer turns up the heat and you don't want to be bogged down with regular foundation, I reach for a sheer and natural tinted moisturizer.
Oh, and did I mention that they also contain sunscreen, so you can feel a little more confident about being in the summer sun.

Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer is one of the best known in the industry. It's lightweight, gives your skin a sheer hint of color, contains SPF20, and gives your skin a fresh and healthy glow. It's available in the oil-free formula, as well as a regular formula for those that need the extra oil. To top it off it’s available in seven great shades, so finding your perfect match will be as easy as pie. (*My favorite!)

Clinique Almost Makeup was one of my first tinted moisturizers and I still love it today. The sheer coverage evens out your skin without leaving you looking cakey or made-up. It's oil-free formula is perfect for all skin types, and the added SPF15 makes it perfect for summertime. This long wearing and natural looking makeup is available at all Clinique counters and online in six great shades.

Before Stila's Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer came in SPF15, but now they offer the great benefit of SPF30 in the same great makeup. This great tinted moisturizer is a multi-tasker since it helps to even out your skin tone, helps to absorb excess oil, and moisturizes and smoothes your skin while giving you sun protection and a glowing medium coverage. It’s available at all Stila locations, and online in eight great shades.

Sephora offers their own fabulous brand of tinted moisturizer that is oil-free, so all skin types can use it. It goes on sheer and gives your skin just enough coverage to give you a natural and even skin tone. It also has a natural satin finish along with an SPF15, and is infused with vitamins A, C, and E to help fight free radicals and keep your skin strong. Sephora Brand Tinted Moisturizer is available online and in-store at Sephora, and comes in six great shades.

Kiss My Face Tinted Moisturizer is oil-free, fragrance free, contains no artificial dyes, and is enriched with Ester-C to help smooth out your skin tone. When you add in the SPF 8, the sheer yet blendable coverage, and the low price tag, then you've got a perfect warm-weather foundation. It's available in six great shades, and since it's priced under $10 you can afford to get one for yourself and for a friend. (*not pictured)

Bobbi Brown's Tinted Moisturizer is great for normal to dry skin types, providing your skin with a wonderful lightweight moisturizer while giving you a slight wash of color. In the end you get a casual and natural looking finish, packed with an SPF15, to give you the perfect look for summer or anytime during the year. (*not pictured)

I could never get in to them, though they are a beloved product by many. I agree that Laura Mercier's is def best! When I go for that light coverage look, I add a few drops of foundation into my everyday moisture.

What a great post! Thanks for the reviews.. but there's one that you left out, Lauren Hutton's No Shine Tinted Moisturizer.

I love this product, I find that it has better coverage than most other tinted moisturizers.. it not only gives you coverage, it evens out your skin in those blotchy areas, leaving your skin looking flawless.

You should check it out and maybe write a review on it. :)
