Layering Up

Layering clothes is a great way to create a new look for your wardrobe. A simple addition of a scarf, sweater or jacket along with another can go along way in changing the entire look of your outfit. Layering gives you the ability to mix and match all your clothes, new with old, etc. It's a great excuse to pull out those old vest collecting dust in the back of your closet!
Here are a few steps I use when creating the layered look:

1.Choose pieces of clothing that are a variety of sizes, some tighter or more fitted others should be lose and stretchy material.
2. Using a wide range of fabrics also helps the look come together. Try cotton, denim, corduroy and silk.
3. Start from the bottom, begin with basics - tights, leggings or skinny jeans. Add boots. Try mixing in a shorter skirt. If your feeling daring, try out some leg warmers too.
4. The top, how about a form fitting cami or tshirt? Add a blazer or vest. (Colorful vest are a great addition) Scarfs, and funky hats are a great way to finish an outfit.
5. Don't forget jewelry! Watches, rings, necklaces - all that fun stuff is a great way to add spice.
