Fighting the Frizz by Roma

Summertime means warm weather, long days spent at the beach and lounging poolside. It can also mean bad hair days ,if we aren’t careful. The salt, the humidity, the chlorine can certainly stress our tresses, and the best way I’ve found to undo all the damage is to MOISTURIZE.

One of the best methods of nourishing hair and keeping it healthy is to deep condition on a regular basis. Why go to the salon if you can do this yourself at home? Most deep conditioning products on the market will do the trick. But to really take it up a notch, slather wet hair with conditioning treatment) and head to the beach or pool (my personal favorite is Deep Conditioner by Ouidad available online prices range from $20 -$50 depending on size). A couple of hours spent in the heat of the sun will really kick the conditioner into action. If you want killer natural-looking highlights, add a few drops of fresh squeezed lemon juice to the conditioner before combing it in to your hair and voila! Sun – kissed locks that are healthy too…

A tried and true product that will keep your hair ultra sleek and shiny despite the havoc of styling tools this upcoming season is PhytoSpecific Moisturizing Styling Balm found at most Sephora stores. A little dab will do it, ladies. This product is pretty powerful. I would not recommend it for fine or those prone to oily hair. In fact, it works best on hair that is already feeling the affects of heat styling and chemicals.

If you really want to pamper your hair after all the harsh things it’s been through this winter and prep it for the hotter weather, try splurging for Alterna’s White Truffle & Caviar shampoo and conditioner available at most Trade Secret stores nationwide and high-end salons. Truffles and caviar, need I say more? Turns out these ingredients are really good for your hair and get a shiny, healthy look without weighing it down.
