Last night (9pm EST) on the CW, I caught the 1st episode of Stylista. Show is that 11 want to be fashion-enthusiasts are all competing for a one-year job as an editor at Elle. To get the position, they have to compete as assistants for Anne Slowey, Elle's Fashion News Director. According to the CW website she's a "well-respected fashion icon." Based on last night's show, she's also incredibly demanding and opinionated (think of the Meryl Streep character in The Devil Wears Prada) and you get the picture.The first challenge the aspiring editors faced last night was to get, and serve artfully, a healthy breakfast for Anne Slowey (yep, really feeling like The Devil Wears Prada). Then, the big challenge was to do a fashion makeover on themselves, and prepare a one-page layout for Elle describing their style. All of that made for a rather entertaining hour for me. I'll might watch it again next week, but as of now I have no commitment for long term.
